Helfrich Studded Belt – Medieval Leather Ring Belt with Decorative Fittings

Classic construction with just enough decoration to make a costume stand out. The Helfrich is a traditional-style leather ring belt decorated with numerous cast metal fittings. Small floral ornaments run along the length of the leather, creating an eye-catching design without compromising the belt's practical character.

Made from durable genuine leather, Helfrich works particularly well with medieval, LARP and fantasy costumes. Its decorative fittings can elevate a simple tunic while remaining versatile enough for travellers, craftsmen, merchants, adventurers and wealthier characters.

Classic ring belt design

Instead of a conventional buckle, the Helfrich uses a metal ring with an inner diameter of 4.5 cm. The leather strap is passed through the ring and tied into position, allowing the fit to be adjusted while creating the characteristic hanging end associated with ring belts.

At 3 cm wide, the belt is substantial enough to become a visible part of the costume without overwhelming other layers and accessories.

A versatile addition to your costume

The combination of natural leather and decorative floral fittings makes the Helfrich suitable for a wide range of character concepts. Wear it with tunics, robes, dresses or layered fantasy clothing and combine it with belt pouches and other accessories to create a more complete outfit.

Material & Care

Material: Genuine leather, cast metal.

Leather is a natural material and may absorb dyes differently. Because the products are handmade, minor variations in colour, texture and measurements may occur. Photography and display settings may also affect colour representation.

The leather is supplied only lightly greased. Applying leather grease during regular care may darken the colour, and an exact shade therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Add the Helfrich belt to your outfit and give even a simple tunic a more complete, distinctive appearance.

Natural leather products are very durable, but require regular maintenance with leather care products to stay flexible and to increase life-time. Make sure your leather products are kept dry when stored. Let wet leather dry naturally before treating. If frequently wet and dry, increase frequency of maintenance.

Cleaning

It is best to start cleaning leather from the most delicate measures possible. Therefore, use a damp cloth with a little soap. If this is not enough - use a hard brush to remove dirt. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to wipe away any soap residue, and then use a dry cloth to wipe away the remaining water from the leather. Let it dry completely before the next maintenance step.

Conditioning

Always keep the leather maintenance after cleaning, because the soap will remove some of its natural oils. Apply mink oil, olive oil or professional lanolin-based fats to clean leather using a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of fat with circular movements. Wait for the fat to soak in the leather, then use a clean cloth to clog the residue. For maintenance, you can also use beeswax by heating it to a liquid state and applying it to the leather. Remember that the leather so preserved will be harder and significantly darken what sometimes is the desired effect.
