Hauer pickaxe
“Hauer” Pickaxe – a mining tool look with LARP-ready construction
The “Hauer” pickaxe is designed as a classic mining tool, combining a clear, functional appearance with practical construction. The double-sided head in a metal look is mounted on a long shaft in a wood look, creating the impression of a sturdy working tool—ideal for mining scenes, camp setups, and craft-focused environments.
A particularly practical feature is the durable plastic thread that allows the head to be removed. This makes the pickaxe easy to transport and store in a space-saving way.
Safe build for LARP and stage use
Made from durable PU foam around a stable fiberglass core, the “Hauer” offers safety and resilience for LARP use. It works equally well as a fitting tool prop for miners, craftsmen, or camp construction, as well as an unconventional close combat weapon for suitable character concepts.
Care recommendation
For a long service life, the manufacturer recommends regular care with silicone oil. This helps keep the foam supple and resistant.
LARPGEARS – Affordable & Reliable
This pickaxe is part of the LARPGEARS range, described as budget friendly and robust entry level weapons with distinctive designs and highly competitive prices. The manufacturer particularly recommends LARPGEARS for newcomers, as training weapons for LARP or stage combat practice, and for large battle scenarios.

Nothing can describe how to maintain
Remember that most of the damage is done due to the lack of maintenance and bad storage.
-
Store your latex weapons flat or standing on their pommel - NEVER on the thrust (this will cause damage to the tip of the weapon, that’s not refunded)
-
Use a barrier made of paper or a towel to guard your weapon in contact with other plastic or rubber surface, so they won’t stick together.
-
Keep your weapon in a cool, dry area.
-
Avoid long time exposure to sunlight and don’t transport your weapons on top of your car luggage.
-
Remember about the maintenance, sprays work best for that.
