You look upon your leading officer as he makes his way down the line of your fellow soldiers. Your fate and the fate of your entire unit is dependent on this veteran’s word, and you find yourself relieved not to shoulder such a heavy burden.
“We must fight!” your officer shouts for all to hear. You adjust your RFB Breastplate, double checking the buckles as you listen to him continue. “For our homes and for our families, we will fight until we can fight no more!” With a resounding cheer, your fellow soldiers ready themselves for the charge. You withdraw your weapon, eager and afraid all at once.
The battle has begun.
Epic Armoury’s Ready for Battle Breastplate is a handmade cuirass designed to protect the front of the torso and abdomen. The plate rests at the hips and has a small flange--or sword turner--that deflects blows from the weak spot where torso and leg armour fit together. Sculpted to fit the body and add structural strength to the steel, this simple armour piece is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products.
Secure the RFB Breastplate by tightening the 4 cm wide leather straps across the back, keeping the breastplate in place over your gambeson. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.
This product can have slight deviations in pattern, colours and shape.

Natural leather products are very durable, but require regular maintenance with leather care products to stay flexible and to increase
It is best to start cleaning leather from the most delicate measures possible. Therefore, use a damp cloth with a little soap. If this is not enough - use a hard brush to remove dirt. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to wipe away any soap residue, and then use a dry cloth to wipe away the remaining water from the leather. Let it dry completely before the next maintenance step.
Always keep the leather maintenance after cleaning, because the soap will remove some of its natural oils. Apply mink oil, olive oil or professional lanolin-based fats to clean leather using a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of fat with circular movements. Wait for the fat to soak in the leather, then use a clean cloth to clog the residue. For maintenance, you can also use beeswax by heating it to a liquid state and applying it to the leather. Remember that the leather so preserved will be harder and significantly darken what sometimes is the desired effect.
